Refunds & Returns

We want you to love what you buy from us. Here’s how returns and refunds work, which is different for physical products vs. digital downloads because of the print-on-demand model.

Physical products (apparel, mugs, prints, stickers)

Every physical product is printed just for you after you order — we don’t keep inventory, and your product doesn’t exist until someone prints it. That means we can’t accept returns for:

  • Change of mind
  • Wrong size (please use the size chart before ordering)
  • Color appearing slightly different in person than on your screen
  • “I just don’t like it anymore”

We will replace or refund (your choice) for:

  • Print defects — fading, smearing, misalignment, missing ink
  • Manufacturing flaws — torn seams, broken mug handles, damaged-on-arrival items
  • Wrong item shipped — you ordered a Lansing shirt, you got a Detroit mug

How to claim a defect

Within 30 days of delivery, email orders@capitalloopgifts.com with:

1. Your order number 2. Clear photos of the defect (multiple angles if relevant) 3. A short description of what’s wrong

We’ll respond within 2 business days. Most defects are resolved by our fulfillment partner (Printful/Printify/Gelato) reprinting and reshipping at no cost to you. For more serious issues, we’ll issue a full refund to your original payment method.

You don’t need to ship the defective item back in most cases — we usually just ask for photos.

Digital downloads (printables, art files)

Digital downloads are non-refundable once delivered. Because digital files can’t be “returned” (you still have the file), we don’t issue refunds after the download link has been accessed.

If the file is corrupted or won’t open:

  • Email us within 7 days of purchase
  • We’ll send a fresh copy or, if we can’t fix it, issue a full refund

Cancellations

You can cancel an order for a full refund if we haven’t sent it to our print partner yet. Physical orders typically enter production within a few hours of checkout — reach us fast at orders@capitalloopgifts.com and we’ll try.

Refund timing

Once approved, refunds take:

  • 3–5 business days to appear on credit cards
  • 1–2 business days for Cash App Pay / Apple Pay / Google Pay

We’re a small Lansing business, not a corporate juggernaut. If something’s wrong, just email usorders@capitalloopgifts.com. We read every email, and we’d much rather fix a problem than lose a customer.
